Therapeutic Services

Our highly-trained therapists may include one or more of the following services in your personalized treatment plan:

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is the most commonly offered and known type of massage.

It uses a firm but gentle pressure to improve circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation. Swedish massage is the foundation for other types of Western massage, including sports, deep tissue and aromatherapy.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events.

The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. Sports massage can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether a person is an athlete or a once a week jogger.

Energy Balancing

Energy balancing is incredibly relaxing.

You may find that you go to a very deep place, may see images or colors, or feel dreamy as we lay our hands on you or just above you to work with your 4 energy bodies (mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical) to support you in your own healing process. We believe that you do your own healing work, but that extra support may make your work much easier. Blocks may move quicker, tension can be released, you may feel more energized.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue focuses on the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue.

It is also a more point specific type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension, knots and adhesions. Deep tissue consists of slower, stronger massage that stimulates deep into muscles.

Trigger Point

Trigger point therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body.

Sometimes massage and trigger point therapy are performed together.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is an ancient Chinese method of causing local congestion. A partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of heat or suction.

This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place. Cupping therapy has been further developed as a means to open the 'Meridians' of the body. Meridians are the conduits in the body through which energy flows to every part of the body and through every organ and tissue. There are five meridians on the back that, when opened, allow invigorating energy to travel the whole length of the body. It has been found that cupping is probably the best way of opening those meridians.
Cupping has also been found to affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, clear colon blockages, help activate and clear the veins, arteries and capillaries, activate the skin, clear stretch marks and improve varicose veins. Cupping is the best deep tissue massage available. Cupping, the technique, is very useful and very safe and can be easily learned and incorporated innto your family health practices.

Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy massage is a safe therapy technique which can provide pain relief and relaxation for expecting mothers.

Hot Stone

Hot stone massage stimulates relaxation by placing heated stones on specific points on the body.
